Tiktok for Tranium

For this Digital Artefact, I am going to be working alongside a YouTuber that I’ve been working with for almost a year now, Tranium.

Tranium is a YouTuber with nearly 800k subscribers and recently I proposed to him the idea of increasing our audience by creating TikTok content related to his current content he puts on YouTube to help increase his current audience and maybe reach a new demographic of people to hopefully bring into his audience.

Our intention with this project is expand Tranium’s audience so that we can increase the viewership and hopefully reach further milestones on YouTube. As of right now the way we put out videos is that he records the footage and then I edit the video, send it back to him and he adds or removes what he sees fits then we put it onto YouTube.

With this TikTok now coming into play our process won’t change much in the way, once a video drops on YouTube, I go back into the project file for that video and convert one of the best (whether that be super funny or something crazy happens) moments of the video and convert that into a TikTok format to match the platform’s preferences.

Above is a rough road map on how the process goes when it comes to posting content

Although every so often we will be purposely making content directed towards TikTok to help with getting on more people’s pages and increase views.

This is a good example of content that relates well with TikTok audiences

  1. Hi James!

Firstly, I am very excited for you to expand your audience on another platform and I can definitely see your passion throughout the process. Your blog post has shown evidence of a high level of digital literacy which is conducive to not only effective communication but also engaging with the audience.

I can clearly see your involvement and participation in this niche, your production plan, and your outcome goal; however, I was looking forward to seeing more of your approach to investigating your nominated media niche, which may be demonstrated through a field map.

Although your blog and video have demonstrated your professionalism and passion, I couldn’t have but noticed some repetition and overlap which, I think, could have saved some space to draw on supporting resources. May I suggest this source on Ethnography and Ethical considerations that you may find helpful:

Overall, I enjoyed watching and reading your blog. Best of luck with your upcoming DA!

  2. Hi James, love the idea as I am trying to do something similar with expanding my youtube channel. Great choice of social media platform being TikTok, you are able to engage with the audience through short videos hopefully drawing them into your youtube. It’s good to see you already have a strong passion for the topic. Your pitch is well detailed with the plan all laid out. Your roadmap is simple yet effective, adding a timetable with an upload schedule with dates may be beneficial. That being said I love the idea and hope to see your channel grow even further, good luck !!

  3. Nice Pitch! Just a quick note, your video only says it’s a pitch for BCM206.

I think it’s a great idea to create TikTok videos along with YouTube videos. TikTok is a great media platform that shares your content with many users, I would suggest explaining why you chose TikTok rather than another platform, or the algorithm, just for people who may not know why. Use a range of hashtags if you haven’t already, it makes your content so much more discoverable.

I see that you’re using this pitch from both subjects which is fine but would suggest that you include some of the lecture theories or idea in the blog, or you could use the same video and create two separate blog posts so that you could include some of the BCM241 content.

You have a very clear idea of what you are intending to do and to take it to the next level I would recommend creating a schedule or a plan to show your process, and how you plan on creating an online persona. I like how you used icons in your field map instead of text, it makes it much easier to understand since it’s very clear.

Here are some of the readings you can refer to:

I’m looking forward to seeing how your DA develops.
