So far, the TikTok has been a great success for myself and Tranium. Without ever plugging the TikTok account on the YouTube channel we have gained over 400 followers and had a video reach 5x the number of interactions than a usual video which helped a lot with the growth.
I ended up speaking with my friend who is a TikTok “specialist” and has helped many other TikTok gaming creators blow up and told me some of the big things to do you help get on the “For You Page” and gain more followers. We’ve shortened videos to match the algorithm and our retention has increased and steadily our average views are going up as well as interacting with the people commenting on the post as well.
Sadly, some downfalls that have come our way, Tranium got a strike on YouTube so we couldn’t upload for a week meaning we had no content for the TikTok during that time. Another hurdle that came our way was that I found out after some research and stat analysis that TikTok has a geographical algorithm, meaning that if your in Australia you’ll most likely see videos from other people in Australia, now Tranium’s core fanbase is American meaning I wasn’t reaching the maximum amount of people I could as well as reaching people that already follow him but didn’t know he had a TikTok so in order to reach those people I have had to use a VPN to upload TikToks now.
Overall, so far this has been a successful project and I believe if we have one more banging TikTok we could reach 4000 followers (after starting at around 3400) before the semester is over

Hey James. I think this Beta is REALLY interesting! also Brb I’m getting a VPN cause most of my fans are American! its such a basic concept with a lot of information surrounding it though! Only thing I want to bring up is that you repeat a lot of the same info, the video and blog post are meant to be different.

This is so good to see that Tranium is growing! I think the implementation of a VPN is so smart to gain that audience from the USA. You’ve done well to detail your approach and I can definitely see the direction your online persona is going. Your video is great, it really has that vlog feel and you were clear and concise with your wording and got your message across. It was interesting to be able to see the analytics and have you talk us through how they work. I would have liked to see you talk about your autoethnographic approach, but I think you’re making a good start. The only other thing I will mention is to be careful not to repeat too much information in your blog that was mentioned in the video. Otherwise, great beta and I’m glad your DA is going so well!
