This semester as always, BCM are cooking up Digital Artefacts and what comes along with these are Peer Reviews. In the past I have always worried about how my criticism and pointers come across but this semester I got lucky enough to review two groups that are good mates, Kat (who’s doing a podcast along side Bec) and Andrea (who is further developing her board game from a previous BCM subject)

First off we’ve got Kat and Bec’s podcast, the two girls stated that over the last semester they became incredibly close so why not come together and finish off strong with a Digital Artefact that include them both, that being a podcast by the name of “The Bec and Kat Podcast” where they dive into topics that range from Dating Advice all the way to Relevant News relating to their potential audience. They intend building up and audience of female listeners similar in age (18-28yrs). They both have great understanding of the digital space as they consume and have created in the space for a while and intend on getting a big boost in listeners by collaborating with another BCM student with already a large audience on Instagram and TikTok. She also runs her own podcast so is able to help give tips and tricks on what to do and best ways to keep and audience coming back.

Personally, I too have made a podcast for BCM before and have some experience in the space so with the knowledge I gained from that time, I intend on spilling some hopefully helpful information for the two that help further their podcast, as well as any knowledge I have on the Social and Digital media world, as I am heavily invested there and have a career there too.

Now we have Andrea, last semester she was working on a board game that got a lot of praise from peers called, “Pixelcraft” and intends on continuing that, expanding on it more and work on building a social media presence for it to help build up hype for the game. She is going collaborate with another BCM student to help along with the graphic design side of things of flesh out her game more, as stated here “Game rules, gameplay, contents, and mechanics have all been established, the only thing that’s missing is the artwork…” as there is a certain style she wants to develop and bring a unique art style to the for front of the project.
With her already existing knowledge of the board game genre she knows which platforms are best for her to promote on, those being Reddit, Twitter and Instagram but intends on using each platform differently. Instagram as the Brand Front, Twitter for updates on the game and as a best form of communication to the audience and Reddit as the best place for feedback about the game.
Andrea’s digital artefact being social media based is great because as stated before, that is where my expertise is. When first reading into her project I was worried that I couldn’t help much as I am very “out of the loop” when it comes to board game culture but trying to up her social media game is a place I can help.

I can’t wait to see how both these projects grow over this semester and will have a close eye on both and hope to be of service and give feedback that is helpful for them
