Another Year, Another Digital Artefact
Over the past year for BCM classes I have been working closely on a YouTube Channel I have with a bit over 2.7k subscribers
Over the past years in my own time I’ve have been growing an audience on my YouTube channel within the gaming sphere but slowing have less time to create that form of content.
So, I have been slowly incorporating longer and more thought out content that still relates to my audience to a certain degree. My goal with this DA is to subtly switch up my choice of topics from gaming to nostalgia based content.
For those that aren’t aware, Nostalgia based content (also known as Nostalgia Bait) is content that thrives on attracting people growing up in the Late 90s / Early 2000s (sometimes even about early 2010s) talking about either classic toys, cartoons, certain films and either poking fun at the products / content from that era or just giving a fun analytical POV on the topic. Good examples of Creators that do this are NakeyJakey, Drew Gooden and Billiam
I’d never want to stray too far away from my roots as that is what built what I have but moving towards content similar to creators I am a fan of seems like a smart thing to do if I was to continue working on this channel and attempt to see growth on the channel.
There are two main goals for this project, the first goal is growth. I want to see if I can still attract people to my video even when the content isn’t gaming related. When running any social platform growth should always be a goal, when making content you want people to look at that content and enjoy it

Which transitions into my second goal, which is conversation. My favourite thing about my past video essays is although some have failed and some have popped off every single time there is a conversation that comes from that video.
Some ways I intend on continuing to bring over my audience to a newer style of content is by engaging them with topics, specifically with the use of talking about gaming heavy topics. My audience is big into Call of Duty and certain Esport organisations so I have 2 videos already scripted and researched that I know will do well and attract them to this style of content and hopefully keep them wanting more.
My biggest worry is the amount of time I have, Not only needing to give my time to other subjects but always my work commitments will get in the way and may even tank my motivation to edit seeing as my job is an editor for a Studio based in Austin, Texas
To combat that I have made a Gantt Chart to help schedule time to record, edit and research the topic at hand

Another challenge to overcome is my ability with thumbnails, I normally go to my friends in the gaming sphere for ideas and help with thumbnails and they give me advice on what I can improve, so they will be a big help to me and my goal of trying to raech new audiences
