Disaster turned to Success

This semester of University I am making another video essay for my YouTube channel of 2.7k subscribers. I had high hopes for this task and plans to look into the future of gaming… Oh how I was wrong 😂

As i stated in the video, I dove deep into researching the trends of Influencers and what some possibilities are to come for them and the market that has been created. I thought the best way to get this type of information was from the creators themself.

Colin and Samir are a YouTube duo that dive deep and help explain the “Creator Market” on a very basic level that helps give anyone who is new to the scene an easy idea on how certain things work and even some predictions they make for the for ever growing influencer market.

Through their videos I was able to learn about Influencer products. An amazing fact is that soon most Influencers will have competing products with major brands, for example 2 huge creators have started a competitor to Gatorade and there are many predictions that it could get bought out for billions ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SpdWaOngRWM&t=5s )

Looking into the future of Influencer’s was no easy task due to the market evolving so quickly. Trends, ideas and controversies emerge so quickly and change too often to be able to predict the future but what I figured I’d also do was compare them to current “Hollywood Celebrities”

Celebrities are starting to realise that they need to obtain a following online so that they can sell their products they are partnered with and to even be featured in movies too. Due to the whole world now being on social media, being able to advertise the work you are in is crucial.

Although I tried to stick to my schedule I created for my pitch for the original idea I completely left that in the dust and ended up pumping through the whole Digital Artifact in around 2-3 weeks. The passion for this topic really took over and found myself loving every bit of research I was doing and would have to force myself to stop.

What my schedule was supposed to look like…

I think overall this project was a success due to me learning more about the audience i have created. I was under the assumption that if I uploaded good content no matter the subject i thought I’d at least have similar viewership but clearly I was wrong BUT again, through learning more about the algorithm and thumbnails from knowledgeable sources and how to improve my video statistics to help with future growth.
