Live Tweeting during Movies.. Who would’ve thunk it 📽

As with most of BCM assignments, Twitter again comes into play.. but not in the way I thought it would. For years on end ADs and social norm has taught me that being on my phone during a movie is disruptive and ruins the experience
Well look out world my eyes have been lifted 😍

Don’t worry, I’m not going to start being that dick head in movie cinemas whos loud, phone on and just a constant annoyance BUT a huge reason why I was able to continue through some of the slower parts of the movies we watched was the interactions made between our peers through there hashtag, “#BCM325”.

Being able to chat and interreact and learn from each other is awesome whilst getting to intact some cinematic masterpieces, some of I’ve never gotten to watch before. So being a first time watcher of some of these films and having these fun facts spit at me in real time when watching these film was fantastic.

Granted there are some cons to this aspect…

Sometimes people would be ahead and a meme would spoil some bit of the movie, now that isn’t anyone’s fault but my own because all these films have been out for a long time and I’ve have plenty of chance to try them out but it is sometimes a let down when some big happens in the film and your behind a little and it gets ruined for you.

Which leads me to my next gripe with the live tweeting, well more of a personal problem 😅

Some people are just too quick with their meme’s and I have actually been snubbed a few times by certain people of those juicy likes and retweets. Now obviously that isn’t even in the slightest a major problem, infarct that happens constantly in the meme economy and digital media. In the end it is “first in, best dressed” in these moments, just about who can boot up photoshop quicker 😂

Overall, I am learning so many cool facts and really am enjoying having back and forth about the culture, structure and legacy these Sci-fi movies have behind them and it really adds a whole new element to movie watching that I didn’t know I needed.
I think having some sort of outlet to send your excitement and other emotions to and have other people respond and chat about those moments with is very uniting and something more people should try out. I reckon next time someone recommends me a show or movie to watch, I’m going to let them know that I will intend on sending them live updates to look back on and to help bring more life and spark chatter about the content being watched
