Do my Classmates hate me, or do I just need some sleep?

When reviewing and giving back feedback to my classmates only things that went through my head were, “Please don’t hate me šŸ˜…”, “I hope this feedback helps”, “Is what I’m saying even going to help” and “How am I 22 and still can’t spell ‘Definitely’! “

But what I ended up learning from commenting and doing the BCM 241 Peer reviews was:

Stay on the Fence

Make sure you throw everyone some positivity, there’s never a reason to downplay someone’s work, especially when that work isn’t even in its beta stage yet but yet also be sure to be truthful and tell them where they can improve or what they can add to their project

(in an encouraging manner obviously)

The Criteria James… READ IT

When giving back feedback in a subject that you are doing at the same time there’s no way we’d have all the knowledge on deck to help review, that’s why we read and use the marking criteria given to us to help grade our fellow classmates to make sure we are giving helpful information and rightful criticisms

Your Not Perfect

You aren’t… and never will be close but you can learn to be better from your peers and learning from them can help you reflect on your own work and then hopefully return the favour and give that great feedback to others

The best part about this peer feedback is that it helped me realise what I was missing in my project and it helps me rework my project and make it better than it was before, once you look at something from and outside point of view you begin to see ways that those aspects can help you and what your doing

The posts I commented on were:

– Xoese and her project where she interviews her father (who is first generation migrant) and other people in her life and uses those to express her “own experiences in an interracial relationship”

Anh is doing a deep dive into the self-care niche and will be creating her own self-care Instagram “that is informative and educational to raise awareness about the importance of self-care.”

Ricardo is making DJing content on Instagram and TikTok and posting new sets throughout the semester
